I'm fortunate to be in the virtual company of my Low Carb Friends everyday. And, I have good ol' Heidi - Kimmer - whatever, to thank for that. This is a group of folks who like to have fun, have biting senses of humor and work tirelessly to spread the word that Kimkins is a dangerous diet whose creator - Heidi - is a total con artist.
But what about the help Heidi's gotten in spreading her fraud? You see, most people, myself included, found out about Kimkins through Woman's World magazine. And, despite repeated pleas, news stories on KTLA, features on the Morning Show with Mike and Juliette, Woman's World refuses to acknowledge their part in helping Heidi by doing a follow-up story or a retraction.
So, what's a former jouralist like me to do?
Well, gosh darnit, I think I'll help spread the word about Woman's World and the other "fine" publications produced by Bauer publishing.
See, the power of the press (print, electronic) is not something I take lightly. The very fact of a story appearing on "the news" or in print gives it credibility in people's minds. Freedom of the press is one of the main ideals on which the United States was founded. So, along with it's awesome power comes the responsibility to tell the truth. Apparently, that doesn't matter much to Woman's World.
When Heidi sold Woman's World on her diet plan, she did so with faked success stories, fake pictures and a menu that, had the "journalist" writing the story bothered to check, would have never made it into print. And thousands of people would not have fallen prey to the Kimkins diet.

This diet makes your hair fall out and can cause serious heart and health problems. Funny, I didn't see that mentioned in the story!
So, how are we to trust anything that's written in Woman's World? Simple. You can't. So, don't buy it! Same goes for Bauer publishing's other titles including First for Women, In Touch, Life & Style, and CBS/ABC Soaps.
DON'T BUY THESE MAGAZINES! Period.
Since learning of the Kimkins scam, I've not bought a single one of these rags, and I never will. Maybe if Bauer gets hit in the pockets, they'll have to change their shoddy practices.
Save your money, girls! You might be saving yourself a lot of heartache as well.

I could never buy one again! Now that I see the kind of fraud they promote, I'm suspicious of every word on the cover, as I stand waiting to pay for my groceries. My biggest fear is that I'll get sucked into fighting another scam like this and never leave my house again!
Great advice!

Stop the fraud! Kimkins members may join the Kimkins lawsuit. Here is a video that explains how easy it is to join the Kimkins lawsuit.
good for you mayberry lead a boycott of WW. Maybe negative sales will effect them cause all our letters haven't.
Kimkins.com and Kimmer benefitted by over $2 million from that article. they should have checked their facts and never sold a dangerous nutrtionally bankrupt plan.
Wow, 2big! That kind of money is MIND BOGGLING. I sure hope everyone gets their money back with the lawsuit.

"Kimkins" Diet Fraud Unmasked!
Say NO to Kimkins!
Great idea! Calling for a boycott of these magazines and their reckless disregard for what happens to the real people who follow the dietary "hype" might be a wake up call not only to the readers but also to the magazine publishers and their advertisers.
